  Jesus with an iPad. Really?

  at a local meeting, one of the elders said that if jesus were on the earth today 'you can be sure' he would be preaching by showing videos on a tablet.. i kid you not.. i wonder what videos he'd be playing?.

  obviously this was the elder's own pet theory.

  Born ins: did you have "near life experiences"?

  i recently watched the 90s movie fight club for the first time and heard the phrase "near life experience.".

  for me, a different definition of this phrase would be someone who grew up in the truth and led a very secluded and restricted life (like me) but on rare occasions actually experienced something that was considered quite normal by most people.. growing up in "the troof" was depressing.

  it was characterized by long periods of loneliness.

  My worldly dad would take us camping for about a week in the summer. Nature, streams, hiking and roasting marshmallows. Then it was back to the fearful meetings.

  I also got to spend 2 weeks at my worldly grandma's house. I helped plant her garden. I was so thrilled to be asked to make her coffee in the morning. I loved my grandma so I put in 2 scoops instead of the one she had told me to put in. As I watched her sip the coffee, once and then twice, she slowly asked if I had put more in? I said yes, and she just silently nodded her head and said "maybe tomorrow, you could put just one in" Lol, I knew nothing about coffee.

  At her house, I felt like I was a valued person. Just a normal loved human. It was the only real love I had growing up.

  so i was watching some of the dramas screened at the be courageous convention, and one caught my eye.. it's the scene where a group of jw teens are watching something deemed as "sinful" at the movie theaters.

  Peace security

  never have understood why sudden destruction most come after announcement of peace and security.

  is not peace and security a good thing?

  can someone give a logical answer to it..

  The WT has gotten people to rely on them for what is supposed to happen in the last days. They don't even follow the correct sequence found in Daniel's book. They can't. Russell started out on the wrong foot and the rest of those following his religion have to do the same.

  That being said, the WT's explanation of the Peace and Security cry is something like this - The world thinks it has solved the problem only God can fix. So their cry of Peace and Security is likened to the tower of Babels boast of "nothing can stop us now, we don't need God" Which is false according to WT.

  It's past my bedtime so I won't swear to everything being 100% correct.

  if you were part of the world, the world would be fond of what is its own.

  now because you are no part of the world, but i have chosen you out of the world, for this reason the world hates you.

  If the Governing Body is no part of the World, why did they sign up with the UN?

  When I was growing up, you couldn't even use the swimming pool at the YWCA because that would be sharing in a worldly religion. Even if they were "just using it for the library card ( )- which it was more than that - that would still make them friends with the world. And they are supposed to be living up to a higher standard.

  My mom apologized to me one day out of the blue. "Sorry" she said. I said what for? "You've grown old"

  Even tho she recognized that what the WT said about children my age not graduating school, having to get a job or growing old had failed, it didn't change her thinking about the religion. She's in her eighties and having to contemplate death now. She won't change because she would have to face the non existence of paradise and the end of her life long dream.

  Most everything that moves in Australia will get you. Surprising they didn't have the Jumping Jack Ants

  

  I watched a program that showing a mechanical roving camera going to take a look at the ants. As soon as one saw the camera, it started leaping in great jumps to attack it. It can cause shock and death. Little stinkers. That's why I decided if I had the chance, I would go to New Zealand. Just blood sucking things there.

  watched the jw finance video's.. they have sold all brooklyn landmarks.

  bilions.

  they are selling other property maybe up to 3000 units worldwide.. so, there is going something wrong.... there must be a giant money leak.

  Maybe some of the funds are disappearing into the hidden accounts of those that belong to the "incorporated" part of the society. So that when the rainy day comes and the organization is going to have to pay out for hiding pedophiles, they won't have a worry. It will all be on the "religious" part.

  i approached them and said, i saw you guys on the news, there was a child abuse cover-up in philadelphia.

  Why does John have to do it a certain way? I have my way of talking with a JW that may not match his, but I recognize he's a different person than me.

  Let them go back to their congregation and talk down about him. Oh, he said "why don't you look up an abuse case in Philadelphia? And I just looked him in the eye until he walked away! After all, it's just lies isn't it?" And someone listening will be curious and look it up for themselves.

  Suggestions for horror/supernatural movies

  hey guys, so now that i’m pretty much atheist and i’m not scared of demons or supernatural things, or bring them into my house by watching movies or reading books about them lol, i defenitly want to watch a few scary movies.

  i’ve always loved scary movies, but as witness, you don’t get to watch many since they need to be pg-13 and have no spiritism in it lol.

  does anyone have any suggestions?

  This movie isn't new. It doesn't have great special effects although it was probably pretty good for it's time. It does have some nice acting and rewatching it today, made me scared like it did when I was a kid. Mostly because it was filmed a little like film noir.
